PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Provide new Sprinkler Room at the rear of the Dormitory. This addition is designed to facilitate installation of sprinkler system within existing Dormitory Building. The Sprinkler Room shall house fire pump, jockey pump, controllers and water storage tanks. Provide two 1500-gallon water storage tanks in the Sprinkler Room. Provide skid mounted fire pump, jockey pump, and associated controllers. Provide design and installation of a wet-pipe sprinkler system based on hydraulic calculations, the system to include riser, zone valves, piping, valves, fittings and sprinkler. Provide hot water unit heater in the Sprinkler Room. Provide power for fire pump and controller from existing Switchboard-2 in direct buried conduit and hand holes. Replace existing 200A Dormitory Building Main Distribution Panel (MDP) and associated enclosed circuit breaker with new 300A MDP. Modify existing wiring and conduit as required. Provide new grounding system. Provide new MDP feeder in direct buried conduit. Provide new panelboard in Sprinkler Room (fed from MDP) to serve new light fixtures, receptacles and jockey pump and controller, exhaust fan and motorized damper in Sprinkler Room. Remove existing enclosed circuit breaker and feeder serving Boiler Room Panel “BR. Provide new feeder from MDP to Panel “BR”. Provide fire alarm devices and connect to existing fire alarm control panel. Install new wall mounted light fixtures in Dormitory bedrooms. Modify and extend existing lighting branch circuit as required. Remove/reinstall or relocate existing wall and ceiling mounted devices for installation of sprinkler piping and enclosures. Replace ceilings in bedrooms. Site grading and restoration as required.
