Baltimore County’s Weekly Business Resource Update

Contract or RFP No:

Description:

It has been a busy week for federal programs and new resources for your business.  Baltimore County Department of Economic & Workforce Development is here to keep you up-to-date:

On Tuesday, April 21 at 1pm, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski invites you to take advantage of free expert advice in a series of targeted webinars hosted by the County’s economic and workforce development professionals.  The first webinar in the series “Navigating Small Business Resources” offer participants live and direct access to panels of local subject matter experts designed to help small businesses and affected workers navigate available federal/state/local assistance resources and plan for eventual economic recovery.  We look forward to have you join and participate.

Funded by corporate and philanthropic partners, the US Chamber of Commerce's Save Small Business Fund is a collective effort to provide $5,000 grants to small employers.  Basic criteria for the grant: If you employ between 3 – 20 people, have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and if you are located in a qualified zip code.     Applications go live on April 20!

  • SBA Lapse in Appropriations for PPPL and EIDL Programs

As of Thursday, April 16, The U.S. Small Business Administration is no longer accepting applications for the SBA Emergency Injury Disaster Loan COVID-19 program (EIDL) or the Paycheck Protection Program (PPPL) due lack of appropriations.   $10 billion was originally budgeted to the EIDL COVID-19 program in March.  In just 14 days, the $349 billion budgeted for the PPP has already been allocated the SBA Lenders but Congress has been called to appropriate additional funding for PPP.  We will keep you updated with any changes or updates to either program.
